The Perfect Springtime Base
I’ve been finding my base makeup a real drag lately, as my skin has been really dry and every foundation I use seems cakey and too full coverage.
I’ve also been using a primer to help keep my skin hydrated and glowy, and there’s no better drugstore primer than L’oreal’s Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer. I had recently run out of this, which I think may have been what was affecting my makeup.
It’s the perfect product inbetween moisturizer and foundation it gives your skin that extra kick of moisture, but with a beautiful glowy finish too.
I decided I needed to shake up my foundation a little bit, so went for an old classic - Loreal’s True Match Foundation.
I tried this a few years ago, and got on with it quite well. I definitely prefer the new packaging, and I feel like the product is not quite as greasy as it was before. I picked this up in N1, which is a really good shade for me.
I will probably have to pick up a shade darker towards summer time, but I don’t mind as it leaves a really nice finish on the skin.
I have been applying both my primer and foundation with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. I have to say, disregarding the shape, it is literally the same if not better than the Beauty Blender.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the Beauty Blender, but it is very expensive for what it is, and the Real Techniques version is nearly always on offer for 2 for£10 in my local superdrug bargain.
Put these three together and you’ve got a really lovely, fresh base, that covers well but still leaves the skin feeling natural.
